I have not rewatched last nights episode (Richard’s episode) but I did not like it at all. After I rewatch I might do a real post but for the most part I just found it lame. Before it aired we knew Richard was on the boat and was in chains and was rescued by the MIB. After this episode what have we learned? He was on a faraway island (duh…that’s why he was on a boat), he accidentally killed someone (so what, does that change something in the plot???), MIB rescued him (we knew that), MIB tried to get him to kill Jacob (well…so what. That’s what MIB is always trying to do), and we know Richard had a wife that died and he wants back (again, pointless to the overall plot). The tweets about the episode being one of the best Lost episodes, and laughably, one of the greatest TV episodes ever just show peoples ignorance. The Buffy episodes that are most memorable blow this Lost episode away in terms of emotional losses. And I am sure there are many other great TV shows that are better than this….

And Richard’s acting? Emmy worthy? hardly….Locke’s look at the end of the show was better acted….

Well I found you on twitter last night because I disliked the Lost episode so much I just wanted to find someone that agreed. You did-(and there weren’t many so what’s wrong with us?)-so here I am and happy now that comments work! First off your flash sideways guess is right on with mine and i think that’s what kept me reading. I’ve been saying it since LA X, why would they invest so much time every week with it if it meant nothing. At first I thought it was like Desmond in The Constant. Maybe they were ‘traveling’ until they found a constant to get back to the island. More and more I do believe what we are seeing is what their lives will be like when the show ends. Second, I too have no idea what it is that makes everything reset-because how could Jack have a son and Ben have been there on the island still as a child….etc-so it’s just not that the plane didn’t crash, everyone’s lives are different in some way. Third, I agree that how that happens is what we will see at the very end of the show. I could go on and on but will save it for another time.
